How to get promoted
Every applicant starts at a desk on the first floor. Nobody in the Society stays there long.
Your future colleagues
Nobody looks below the mask.
Eighteen floors, one house on each, one lift. Every morning 3,333 members of the Second Skin Society ride it to work: bankers, judges, landlords, night janitors, each with a stitched human face pushed up on the forehead. Press a floor.
Your desk starts on floor 1. Every colleague you bring in moves it one floor up, all the way to the penthouse.
Personnel files · Restricted
Some files never leave the safe.
Every face in the Society came out of the Tailor's attic, and three of them were never meant to be copied. These are the Mythic one-of-ones, the members the whole story turns on. Their files are kept on the nineteenth floor. Tap the black bars to read what Human Resources blacked out.
The Board of Nine
One founder from each of the nine founding houses. They signed the Charter on the Tailor's cutting table in 1962 and still meet on the nineteenth floor every Monday at 9:02. In 2017 they split four to four on hiring a human. The Tailor broke the tie. Nobody has forgotten how anyone voted.
Human Resources
Frequently asked questions
What is Persona Non Grata?
3,333 animals in stitched human masks, members of the Second Skin Society: a secret guild that runs the human world from the inside, one ordinary job at a time. The first 111, the Genesis, were drawn one by one and each is a one-of-one; three of them are Mythic, the main characters of the story. The other 3,222 joined in the Hiring Spree: they are layered from hand-drawn traits, and their rank comes from how rare those traits are.
Who are the Mythics?
The Tailor, who stitched every face in the Society; Gary, The Last Human, the only person in the building who is exactly what he looks like; and The Matryoshka, the wolf in three faces who catches members before they slip. Each is a one-of-one Genesis member, and the Audit, the last chapter of the story, turns on them.
When is the mint?
Q4 2026, on Base. Inside the Society it is called the Audit: the day the human world checks every badge at once. The exact date is announced to the list first.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Persona Non Grata is a free mint. You only pay the Base network fee, which is usually a few cents.
Which chain?
Base. Any ordinary 0x wallet address works there, the same one you use on Ethereum.
What does the waitlist give me?
A desk on floor 1 and 100 points. Before the Audit, guaranteed mint spots go to the top of the points ranking. The rest of the list gets first-come, first-served access while supply lasts. First come is not guaranteed.
Do you need my signature or keys?
No. You paste a public Base address (0x…) or a Basename. Nobody from the Society will ever ask for a signature, a seed phrase or a private key. If someone does, they are not from Human Resources.
What is the position on my offer letter?
A pattern sample from the house that would hire you. Your actual member is assigned at the Audit.
